I hope everyone knows about the Mario Kart Wii Day, which is happening this Saturday:

Well, to compliment this day we are going to be throwing 2 tournaments for all Mario kart Wii players. The first will be a Battle Tournament held around 4pm est. The 2nd is a VS. Tournament that will happen later in the day, some time around 8pm est. Both times are still under consideration, but will fall somewhere around where mentioned. I will supply the rules for both Tournaments in this thread so you guys have a heads up on how things will be happening. Hope everyone has fun and enjoys Mario Kart Wii Day.

Battle Tournament:

Rules

    * All battles will be best of 3
    * Each game is played until someone wins 2, in case of a tie, the next course is random, first to 2 games still wins
    * All battles are to be played as balloon matches
    * All courses are allowed
    * You can counter pick any course if you lose; first stage is random
    * no wii sharing; this will result in an automatic dq no questions asked
    * bad sportsmanship will earn you a disqualification
    * time limits will be set for results, and they may vary
    * all results must be announced in the chat, if your opponent is missing, post that as well

Time: 9:00 p.m. Eastern (8:00 pm Central) on November 21, 2008

Why: For fun

Rules

    * Tourney is double elimination
    * All matches will be best of 3; best of 5 for losers/winners finals
    * 3 stock
    * 8 minutes
    * SBR stage list and counter pick rules apply
    * NO ITEMS
    * You can choose to ban 1 stage, starter, or counter, for the entire set
    * No Wii sharing; this will result in an automatic dq no questions asked
    * Bad sportsmanship will earn you a disqualification
    * No stalling (Metaknight cape glitch, etc.)
    * Time limits will be set for results, and they may vary
    * if your opponent is missing, post that as well
    * Your opponent will be dq'd 5 minutes after post if not present
    * All results must be announced in the chat
    * Have fun!

Please be there on time. If not there by 9:05 (8:05), you will be dq'd from tourney, no exceptions.
